The Royal Aero Club (RAeC) awards the 2016 Queens Cup to the BMFA.

Her Majesty The Queen approved the gift of the trophy to the Royal Aero Club of the United Kingdom in 2010 and events were held in 2011 (British Aerobatic Association), 2012 (British Microlight Aircraft Association) and 2013 (British Balloon & Airship Club). The trophy is of Irish silver and dates from around 1719 and sits on a wooden base. Sadly we wish to inform you that Howard Menary, FSMAE passed away on 24th February 2016 Howard was a lifelong model aircraft enthusiast who started flying in 1943 with a KK Ajax. He rejuvenated the historic Ulster MAC in 1963 when we turned to Radio Control, starting with single channel home built equipment and progressing to multi channel R/C of FAI Aerobatic models. Peters’ contribution to SMAE/BMFA was enormous.
