Keith Miller FSMAE 1926-2014

Keith Miller, FSMAE, who died on Nov. 21st, had been a model flyer since well before the War and a member of the major free flight club, Croydon & DMAC, from its founding in 1936. Chris Bromley FSMAE

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Chris Bromley FSMAE on the 25th September following a prolonged battle with cancer at the age of 67. Robert Lawrence Meager, known to friends and family as Bob, was born on July 16, 1935 and lived in Sheffield all his life.   He first saw control line aircraft being flown in the park as a teenager and was so spellbound by it that he ran home and dragged his father to come and see. National Centre for Model Flying – Feasibility Study Launched

After years of discussion and speculation amongst members, the BMFA is to conduct a feasibility study to fully assess ‘once and for all’ the viability of establishing a ‘national centre’ for model flying. First UK conviction for illegal use of an unmanned aircraft

A man from Cumbria has become the first person in the UK to be successfully prosecuted for the dangerous and illegal flying of an unmanned aircraft. Robert Knowles was found to have flown the device in restricted airspace over a nuclear submarine facility, as well as allowing the device to fly too close to a vehicle bridge. Ken Sheppard - 1926-2013

Ken, a Life Member of the Marquis Model Flying Club, passed away on 3rd December at the age of 87 Ken was not only a founder member of the Club but the chairman at the inaugural meeting which was held in his garage workshop in 1967.
