Control Line Technical Committee Members 2018

  • Vernon Hunt
  • Chris Barker
  • Mervyn Jones

The BMFA Control Line Technical Committee (CLTC) looks after and develops all classes of model aircraft that are flown on a set of control wires (lines), with the exception of CL Scale which is rightly part of the Scale Technical Committee.

Control Line model aircraft are divided into seven sub-disciplines: Speed, Vintage Speed, Aerobatics, Team Race, Vintage Team Race, Combat and Carrier Deck.  Each sub-discipline is very different from the others but Speed & Vintage Speed are similar and Team Race & Vintage Team Race are similar.

The CLTC promotes & develops these disciplines; writes domestic and international competition rules; ensures that the domestic rules appear in the BMFA CL rule books and that the international rules get sent to FAI/CIAM*; generates a complex Contest Calendar each year; runs competitions and team selection leagues throughout the flying season; organises the CL competitions at the British Nationals; recommends to the BMFA for ratification, British Teams in F2A (Speed), F2B (Aerobatics), F2C (Team Race) and F2D (Combat) for World and European Championships.  It also works very closely with its  BMFA Specialist Body, the Combat Flyers Association.

Any of the CLTC members may be contacted for help and information.  Please contact the BMFA office in the first instance.  Details on the right of the menu bar or the bottom left of home screen.
