Our long standing Editor of the BMFA NEWS, Pete Dodd, has decided to retire. I would like to record my thanks to Pete, who has done a great job for us and I’m sure members will join me in offering best wishes to Pete for his retirement. We are now seeking to recruit a new Editor for the BMFA NEWS to pick up the reins from Pete.
The BMFA NEWS Editor currently puts together four copies of the magazine each year. The successful applicant must be able to work to strict deadlines and will be expected to liaise with our contributors, publishers, advertising agent, graphic designer, printers and the BMFA Office to ensure that the quality of the BMFA NEWS is maintained and further developed. The applicant must also have good computer skills and some knowledge of graphic design.
The successful applicant will have exceptional organisational skills, will be adept at motivating and encouraging others and will display first class verbal and written communication skills. It would be useful if the successful applicant had some previous editorial experience and is pro-active, learns quickly and has enthusiasm for the subject matter.
This is not a full time position but is paid (rather than voluntary) and would suit someone looking to supplement their existing income or pension whilst working from home.
If you would like to apply for this position or require further details, in the first instance please email Dave Phipps (david@bmfa.org). The closing date for receipt of CVs and supporting information is Friday 11th August 2023.
