Specialist Bodies

Specialist Bodies are recognised by the BMFA as the experts in their particular disciplines of model aircraft and drone flying and are appointed to manage that discipline on behalf of the BMFA.
Their role includes the following:

  • Organising it's particular competition at the BMFA National Championships
  • Organise team trials or team selection competitions and recommend teams to the appropriate technical committee for World and European Championships
  • Recommend to the appropriate Technical Committee any changes to BMFA/FAI rules relevant to its discipline
  • Submit names to the appropriate Technical Committee for the FAI Judges & Jury and the Technical Experts lists, from BMFA members within its discipline
  • Send a representative to attend the appropriate Technical Committee meeting
