Free Flight European Championships, Romania Report – Tuesday 23rd July

First day of competition.

Our three man team is ready to go. Bill, John and Richard have their gliders at the ready. Fog delayed the start for a short while but comp started at 7.15, A seven round competition we started on pole 3.

Every one maxed the first round  but on subsequent rounds everyone dropped, very difficult flying conditions with the temperature climbing to over 35, 7 rounds completed by 3pm.

None of the team made the flyoff. Only 20 people did.

Fly off was much later when it was a little cooler.

Sorry to say but veteran flyer Mike has injured himself and will be  unable to fly. So Phil Ball has stepped up to the plate and will be flying tomorrow.
