It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of Peter Rabjohn in the early hours of Saturday 21st September 2019. Peter had been receiving treatment for a heart condition for many years, but a recent deterioration finally beat him.

He was a keen Control Line Model Flyer and member of both Chiltern Flyers CLMC and the Milton Keynes Modellers club. He will be especially remembered by many for competing in various racing classes, aerobatics competitions, and vintage speed events.

Only a few years ago with his Class 5 (5c.c.) model Peter won the Vintage Speed category at the SAM 35 Gala, which was run in conjunction with the F/F Nationals at Barkston over the Spring Bank Holiday. In the same year, flying a class 6 model (8.5 c.c.) took the Honours in the Vintage Speed category at the Power Nationals at Barkston Heath over the August bank holiday, breaking the existing record with 126.44 mph (102.44 %).

His models were always built to a very high standard, and his flying skills continued to give him success in many of the events he took part in. Above all he enjoyed the flying, the people he met, and especially over a pint of beer discussing all aspects of Model Airplanes and engine technology.

In addition to his flying, Peter will also be remembered for his willingness to share in the administration of the hobby. He has helped run many events, and was a regular at BMFA South Midlands Area meetings including recently holding the office of Area Competition Secretary.

Peter was a long standing and faithful Club Member of Chiltern Flyers CLMC. As a Committee Member, he always served with the utmost integrity and took his responsibilities seriously.

In previous years he had also been Secretary of the Luton and District MAS.

It was his enthusiasm for the Model Airplane hobby and his willingness to get involved and help others that means he will be missed by many.
