<p>It is with sadness that we record the passing of Allan Pointer on the 28th March 2017. Allan was a long serving member, committee member and newsletter editor of Southampton Model Aeroplane Club.</p>
<p>With his craft skills and knowledge, Allan's ability to design, build and fly model aircraft placed him at the apex of the hobby. He was always happy to share his expertise with other modellers, sometimes also building models for his fellow modellers.</p>
<p>He will be sadly missed by those of us who were party to his enthusiasm and interest for our hobby.</p>
<p>Before retiring, Allan was a highly respected senior Jig and Tool Engineer who was employed for many years at British Aerospace Hamble.</p>
<p>The funeral will be taking place at Southampton Crematorium, West Chapel, Bassett Green Road, Swaythling, Southampton on Monday 24th April at 13.00. SMAC members are welcome.</p>
