<p>It is with sadness that I have to report that Neville (Nev) Eyre, well-known Team Race flier and member of the Wharfedale & District Aeromodellers passed away on Saturday whilst competing in Texas Quickie Rat Race at the Barton Club. He was 59.</p>
<p>I understand that Nev had just taken off after a pit-stop when he collapsed. Despite CPR being administered and an ambulance arriving within eight minutes, he could not be saved. It is not given to many of us to die doing something we love and there is no doubt that Nev loved his flying.</p>
<p>Nev leaves a wife, Carol, and a son, Tristan, and our condolences and deepest sympathy go to them both.</p>
