Applications are invited to the post of Team Manager for the next F9U World Drone Racing Championship. The F9U calendar currently schedules a World Championship every year and although the date and host nation of the next WDRC hasn’t been announced yet, we anticipate it will be towards the end of 2024. Our experience this year suggests that planning for this event needs to happen much earlier.

The successful applicant will have a good working knowledge of all aspects of the F9U class and the FAI Sporting Code, and be committed to organising the logistics of getting our team to the championship.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the budget (and support from sponsorship where necessary) required to send our team to the championship destination
  • Preparations ahead of the championship — i.e.: organising team uniform, team travel and accommodation, receiving and circulating notices and bulletins from the organisers
  • Coaching the team on strategy — i.e.: understanding of the F9U rules and FAI Sporting Code, and supporting the team in applying them effectively
  • Day-to-day management of the team during the event — i.e.: providing assistance and supporting the team with any disputes and protests during the competition, should they occur

The ability to manage people in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication and good interpersonal skills are essential.

Applications may be submitted by email to secretary@bdra.uk no later than 26th Nov 2023 — please include your BMFA number and a CV or short paragraph describing your skills and experience that would be applicable for this position.
